Hi, {{first_name | friend}}!
After 12 years on the streamer, today is the last day to stream Gilmore Girls on Netflix before it leaves on June 30. Don’t fret, though; it’ll be on Prime Video the very next day.
When one comfort watch leaves, another one finds its way back. One of my favorite one-season wonders drops on Netflix this week (ok, fine, there are 3 seasons, but they fumbled so hard after the first that it's not worth continuing on). It got me thinking about the best shows that desperately deserved a second season. Devastating cliffhanger or not, these 15 shows are very much worth watching.
Keep scrolling for everything else new (ish) this week, including more proof that Hollywood can't resist revisiting a good thing.
Psst, looking for more picks worth your time? Over on Worth the Chat, I’m yapping each week about the best Netflix docuseries, hidden gem rom-coms, reality TV drama, and so much more. Start your 7-day free trial to Pix Plus today!

The Biggest Premieres of the Week
There may be fewer releases rolling out this week due to America’s 250th celebration, but don't mistake that for a slow week. Here are the two stand-outs:

Elle
Streaming July 1 on Prime Video
The Legally Blonde prequel series follows teenage Elle as she navigates a surprise move from LA’s It Girl to Seattle’s fish-out-of-water. The show has the tallest of “last-season” Prada heels to fill, but the IP alone is worth tuning in for.

Minions & Monsters
In theaters July 1
The little yellow chaos agents try to make a monster movie in 1920s Hollywood, only to accidentally unleash real monsters in the process. It's a surprisingly cinephile-friendly entry, complete with a 15-minute sequence spoken entirely in babbling "Minionese."

3 Straight-to-Streaming Movies That Rock
#3. They Cloned Tyrone
Streaming on Netflix
Think Sorry to Bother You meets Atlanta. John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Jamie Foxx lead this mystery caper that masterfully blends a variety of genres—blaxploitation, sci-fi, satire, comedy—into a film that is incredibly fun to watch. Unfortunately, They Cloned Tyrone got lost in the Barbenheimer craze back in 2023, so if you haven’t seen it yet, it’s definitely worth the watch.
