Hi, {{first_name | friend}}!

Growing up, there was a certain kind of show that could get my whole family in front of the TV together. American Idol, America’s Got Talent, The Voice, The Amazing Race—we watched them all. Most of them have gradually fallen out of my rotation, but somehow Dancing with the Stars remains. Yes, it’s still cheesy and cringe-inducing at times, but it’s simply fun.

The magic of the show is that somehow, despite knowing next to nothing about dance, I still end up picking favorites and getting invested in their progress every season. As Meredith wrote in this week’s Worth the Chat, “DWTS has never really been about finding the objectively best dancer. It’s about the journey, the growth, and, most importantly, connecting with the audience—it is as much a popularity contest as it is a dance competition.” Read every thought she had watching Week 1 of Season 35 here.

If we still haven't convinced you to watch DWTS, don’t worry—there's plenty more to watch this week. Keep reading to discover the newest shows and movies worth your time.

Yours,

John
