→ Man v. Food is getting plural. Former NFL players Ryan Fitzpatrick and Vince Wilfork will face off in eating challenges across football cities in Discovery’s Men v. Food, with stops including Buffalo, Kansas City, and Seattle. The series is expected later this year; no exact premiere date yet.

→ If you’ve watched Nara Smith make grocery store classics from scratch and wondered whether you should attempt one, her homemade Oreos might be the place to start. A tomato makes a very good bowl, especially when you get to eat that, too. Pierce Abernathy’s take on the Provençal classic petits farcis packs tomatoes, zucchini, or eggplant with mushrooms, white beans, beets, and miso, then roasts the whole thing until tender underneath and crisp on top. Get the recipe from Every Leaf, Every Stem.

Unlikely Pairings

Your Halloween candy has wings

Wingstop and Sour Patch Kids are putting candy on chicken, and we have questions. The Wicked Punch collaboration combines a sour-then-sweet Redberry glaze with Sour Patch Kids candy bits, arriving at participating U.S. locations October 27 through November 5. Club Wingstop members can investigate early, starting October 23.

Bugs Bunny dresses for dessert

Even the doughnuts have costumes. Krispy Kreme’s Looney Tunes Halloween collection includes vampire Bugs Bunny with chocolate dulce Kreme filling and mummy Taz with Oreo cookies and cream. Find them for a limited time at participating U.S. shops, with select doughnuts tucked into grocery-store six-packs. Meet the lineup.

Please don’t eat the instruments

Chipotle sent the London Vegetable Orchestra to Abbey Road Studios with corn flutes, jalapeño trumpets, lettuce percussion, and an onion bass. After three months of experimentation, the result is “From Ground to Sound,” a track played entirely on produce. The short behind-the-scenes film answers the question we’re now all asking: How, exactly, does one play an onion? Watch and listen.
