Hi, {{first_name | friend}}!

Welcome back to our monthly Movie Club edition of Worth the Watch. Today we’re talking about Take Shelter, a more modern film than last month’s pick. This 2011 psychological thriller follows a young husband and father (Michael Shannon) who starts having terrifying dreams about an impending apocalypse that threatens his family. Rather than confiding in his wife (Jessica Chastain) about his disturbing visions, he begins building a storm shelter in the backyard, and his strange behavior causes tension in their marriage and the surrounding community.

I watched this with my dad on the final day of Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, and it couldn't have been better timing. Take Shelter looks like a slow-burn disaster thriller, but it's really a portrait of mental illness—what it's like to reckon with your own mind, and what that does to the people who love you most.

Before we get into it, don’t forget: you get to help pick next month’s movie club selection! So, reply to this email to let me know which film we should cover in August.

Now, on to the review! Plus, 15 tearjerkers you’ll want to watch next. 🚨Warning: spoilers below!🚨
