Hi, {{first_name | friend}}!

I was hopeful Taylor Swift’s new four-song drop would conjure up the cozy fall vibes I’ve been craving (à la Folklore, Evermore, and TTPD), but alas, I had to look elsewhere…

I went digging for some in The New York Times’ list of the 100 Best TV Shows of the 21st Century, which had our office buzzing (justice for Dark! Louie, really? The White Lotus is far too high). Once we got our hot takes out of the way, we pulled out the coziest, most autumn-coded picks for your next night in.

Plus, this week: Florence Pugh is Netflix’s new period-drama antihero, and Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson get seriously spooky. If you’re looking for even more content, I’ve been covering this season of Dancing with the Stars and more over on Worth the Chat!

Ring the alarm: a new Colleen Hoover adaptation is upon us, but this one swaps the cheese for spooks. Anne Hathaway completes her generational run this year as Verity Crawford, a renowned author who hires a struggling ghostwriter (Dakota Johnson) to finish her bestselling book series. But after moving into Verity's home, she uncovers a disturbing manuscript that blurs fiction and reality, manipulation and attraction, and opportunity and obsession.

Florence Pugh as an antihero in a sweeping period drama? This is an easy yes. Based on John Steinbeck's classic novel, the series follows Cathy, who drives a rift between two brothers and ignites a saga that unfolds across two generations. Fun fact: it's written by Zoe Kazan (The Big Sick), whose grandfather, Elia Kazan, directed the Oscar-nominated 1955 film adaptation starring James Dean.
