Hi, {{first_name | friend}}!

I finally saw The Odyssey in IMAX over the weekend, and yeah, it's every bit as epic as they say. I'm not someone who gets excited by Greek mythology—I couldn't even make it through Madeline Miller's Circe—so I went in a little skeptical. But I should've known Christopher Nolan would never let me down. (Interstellar remains one of my favorite movies of all time.)

Despite its three-hour runtime, there isn't a single lull. It's relentlessly entertaining and exactly the kind of movie that demands to be seen in theaters.

Now I'm on a mission to fill in my last Nolan blind spots: Tenet and The Prestige. What's your favorite Christopher Nolan movie? Reply and let me know!

There are still plenty of reasons to head to the couch this week. Ted Lasso is back, a stylish new serial killer thriller is arriving, plus a couple of new movies that deserve a spot on your watchlist.

Happy streaming,

Design Starts at the Door

Good design doesn’t stop at your living room. It starts the moment you walk through the door, even if that space doesn’t usually get much thought. Porte + Hall is here to change that.

Instead of disposable, purely functional pieces, they’ve created entryway essentials that balance thoughtful design with long-term performance. Everything is made to look good in your space while still holding up to the day-to-day reality of dirt, weather, and constant foot traffic.

Pix readers can enjoy 15% off sitewide (excluding the Porter) with code ENTRY15—because even the most functional pieces in your home deserve a design upgrade.

The Biggest Premieres of the Week

Remember when I said last week was a little light on premieres? This week more than makes up for it. Some of August's biggest releases arrive over the next few days, including these two I'm especially excited about. Plus, Ted Lasso returns, and a sex-starved rom-com hits theaters.

The Last House

Streaming August 7 on Netflix

Inexplicable forces trap a family of four inside their home indefinitely. As food, water, and other essentials begin to run out, they must figure out how to survive—and outsmart whatever is keeping them there. With Greta Lee and Wagner Moura starring, this is a must-watch if you can stand the spooks.

The Shards

Streaming August 5 on Hulu

Thirty-one years after Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford's short-lived marriage, their kids are starring in what might become our new favorite nepo baby show. Ryan Murphy adapts Brett Easton Ellisacclaimed novel, blending sex, drugs, privilege, and a serial killer stalking 1980s Los Angeles.
